  • Flood's Hall 1515 East 52nd Place Chicago, IL, 60615 United States (map)

IWOC Chicago’s first Friday Vigilia series that we cohost with Families in Action and Resistance Together & Little Village Solidarity Network / Red de Solidaridad de La Villita Is starting up again January 3rd.

This event will focus on checking in with one another after everything 2019 brought to our communities.

We will be making art for use at future vigils and actions also.

Bring a friend or just yourself. All are welcome in grief, joy, sadness, or solidarity.

Our monthly Community Vigils are a continuum of traveling Unity, Love & Devotion to Justice., A 1st Friday series that will tour all of Chicagoland's Beautiful neighborhoods.
We Welcome all that are with heartache and in Solidarity.
These Vigils will hold a Safe Space to mourn;: the powers that left this earth- once taken to The Star Nations & yet also bringing an opportunity to jointly enjoy the Lives & Strengths we were Blessed with & Admire..
Our Vigils are in Direct Response to and for :
Those that are Crossing The Treacherous Journey
over government lines.
For those that have passed in Search of a sought After Freedom.
And those that are fighting & Surviving this Evil Deportation Machine, this system that lacks for only what we have left, Our Bodies, Our Souls.
We Demand Autonomy.
We Demand Self Determination!
This particular site was chosen due to the connections & responsibility, of the powers that be at St Alphonse, who once supported a Domestic Violence shelter, will now open their doors to a for profit DETENTION CENTER for Undocumented Young Womyn/ Girls.
(The Catholic Archdioceses is also waiting for their clearance to reopen a Baby Jail,at Maryville Academy, of the only 2 closed by Heartland Alliance.)
Not in Our Name,
Not without a Fight!
Here we shall together gather share words, read names of those taken too early with Love & Respect, take time for Deep admiration for one another & the work we give freely.
These ever blooming Vigils were commenced in Pilsen on May 3rd at our Plaza Tenochtitlan, a place of Refuge & assembly.
We will touch ground in all Barrios to bring more Visibility, Accessibility and Unanimity.
May our Energy be the winds of change, May Ehecatl blow the Spirit of Solidarity to all in need!
